GENERAL INFORMATION. All Hukka Gourmet products are crafted from over 2,3 billion years old Finnish bedrock, 100% natural material. As the stone is so old it needs special attention and care.

Soapstone withstands very high temperatures, but not unevenly distributed heat. Therefore never heat Hukka Gourmet product on charcoal fire, gas burner or electrical cooking top. Follow the operation instructions of each product carefully.

Hukka products can be washed with all the detergents used in home normally. They can also be machine washed. Always remember to let them dry thoroughly (at least 24 hours) before you heat them again. Soapstone is so dense material (porosity 0,008%), that it does not soak in any residue from detergents.

Even though soapstone is dense, fat and oils from food products stick to it´s surface well. Therefore it is highly recommended, that you rub thin layer of for example olive oil on all Hukka products that might get in contact with oily/fatty products. It turns the surface colour of the product darker, but keeps it looking neat in constant use.

If you want to clean of for example oily fingerprints from the surface of the stone the best way is to take very fine sanding paper (the finer the better) and rub lightly.

KIVIARINA

Bread and buns are baked in best bakeries with purpose built baking ovens, with stone baking surface on bottom. This is how they get the nice and crispy taste. With Hukka Kiviarina you can have the same great results while baking in normal electric or gas oven.

Instructions for use:

  • Preparing the product (is done only before first use):
    • Wash the stone thoroughly and let dry at least 4 hours before use
    • Set the stone on griddle or frying pan in cold oven, turn on the oven and heat empty Kiviarina in 250 degrees centigrade for an hour, Turn off the oven and let the stone cool down in the oven before moving it
  • Normal use
    • Set Hukka Kiviarina on griddle or roasting pan in cold oven
    • Heat the oven to the desired temperature
    • Set the unbaked goods on top of the stone
    • Bake normally
    • Enjoy!
  • Cleaning: Clean as any other dish with water. Do not forget to let it dry thoroughly (at least 24 hours) before next heating
  • Remember: Hukka Kiviarina is manufactured of pure, natural, over 2 billion years old, Finnish soapstone. Handle it with care. Do not drop the stone or bump it against any hard surfaces. It also scratches easily as it is made of soft stone. Scratches or hairline fractures do not prevent you form using the stone normally.
  • Kiviarina can be used in normal electric- or gas oven. Under no circumstances should it be warmed with any other method (for example on cooking top or microwave oven)
  • From time to time rub a thin layer of high quality food oil on the surface of the product. By doing this you prolong it´s usability

GRILLIMESTARI

Barbecuing is fun, especially when the end result is delicious. Unfortunately this is not always the case. With Grillimestari everybody can become much better cooks. Soapstone distributes the heat evenly. This helps in keeping the food on grill nice and moist. No more charred steaks!

If you have eaten enough of steaks and sausages Grillimestari enables you to barbecue also other raw materials, such as vegetables, fruits and even seafood. It also keeps the food warm long after you have turned off the grill.

Instructions for use:

  • When you open up the package for the first time:
    • Wash Grillimestari thoroughly and let it dry several hour before first use
    • Heat it up empty on a grill with half power for 30 minutes and let it cool down completely
  • Normal use
    • Set the Grillimestari on the barbecue grid so, that the heat from burners hit it evenly
    • Heat the grill with 50 % power for 10-15 minutes depending on the effect of the grill
    • Spread a little butter/olive oil mixture on the stone
    • Set the food you intend to barbecue on the stone, cook normally
    • Turn off the grill, stone will keep the food warm for a long time
  • Cleaning:
    • Normally rubbing it with barbecue cleaning brush cleans the stone enough for next use
    • If the stone is very dirty it can be washed normally with water. Remember to let it dry thoroughly before next use (minimum 24 hours)
  • Grillimestari can be used only on gas- or electric grill. It should never be used on open fire, charcoal fire or side burner of gas grill.
  • Remember: Hukka Grillimestari is manufactured of pure, natural, over 2 billion years old, Finnish soapstone. Handle it with care. Do not drop the stone or bump it against any hard surfaces.   • After use never leave Grillimestari in the grill. Store it always inside the house

GRILLIKASARI

Grillikasari is great for cooking side dishes or sauces simultaneously as you barbecue your stakes or fish. It also keeps the food warm for a long time even after you have lifted it to table. Remember, that Grillikasari as other Hukka products should only be used on gas- or electric grills.

After the use Grillikasari can be cleaned normally by washing with water and cleaning fluids. It also withstands washing in machine. Remember to let it dry at least 24 hours before next heatin

UUNIKKO

The best stews are prepared by using big, wood heated ovens. There the meat becomes juicy and tender. In modern homes we very seldom have this kind of equipment. Do not worry, the next best thing is right here: Uunikko stewing pot made of the very same material they use to make the best baking ovens, soapstone. It cooks all your food tender and moist in normal electric- or gas oven.

Put the ingredients you want to use in Uunikko. Put it in the oven. Set the temperature of the oven to 200 degrees centigrade for thirty minutes - one hour depending on what you are cooking. After this initial roasting, turn down the heat to 100 degrees centigrade. Let the meat stew for a long time (exact time depends on what you are cooking, but on such low temperature you have great difficulties to overcook it). Turn off the heat but let the Uunikko stay in the oven. The heat stored in the stone cooks the food for a long time still and also keeps it warm when you bring the pot to the table.

After the use wash Uunikko Normally. Remember to let it dry at least 24 hours before next use
 

PAISTOKAS

Paistokas turns normal dinner to a special experience. You put the stones in pre-heated oven (250 degrees centigrade) and let them stay there for an hour. Meanwhile prepare the ingredients you want to serve and put them on the table uncooked. Lift the hot stones (beware, they are really hot!) in front of dinner guests and new type of dining experience can begin.

For once everybody can cook their stake exactly the way they like and use the spices they want. At the same time they can pick and cook on the same stone the side dishes they want.
If the dinner takes time the food stays still nice and warm.

After the use wash Paistokas Normally. Remember to let it dry at least 24 hours before next use.

PIZZAKIVI

What is common between Hukka Pizzakivi and 20 000 Euro high end pizza oven? With both of these you can bake your pizza with, nice, crispy and tasty bottom. Pizzakivi is much smaller and more economical alternative though. And you can use it in normal oven.

Put the Pizzakivi in cold oven. Turn the heat to 250 degrees centigrade. Once the oven is ready set the pizza (home made or bought form the supermarket) on the stone and bake normally. You can also use baking paper if you want. Lift the pizza on your plate and enjoy. The Pizzakivi is ready for new round.

After the use wash Pizzakivi Normally. Remember to let it dry at least 24 hours before next use.

KUOHU

To keep white wine nicely cool on the table requires some help. Most wine coolers need ice to function properly. If you have put Kuohu in the freezer few hours before you need it the stone accumulates cold and when you lift it to your table it works without the additional ice, nice and handy. It also creates special feeling as you seldom have a unique piece of over 2 billion year old bedrock on your table.

SARKKA

Sarkka combines two great materials: Billions of years old soapstone and glass. You can store the coolers in freezer and whenever you need nice and cool drink you just lift them to the table, fill the glasses and put them in the coolers.
